Here are the best single game performances since 1979-80 - the year in which the NBA added a 3-point line. This dataset is much more interesting than going back to the beginning of the league for one simple reason: Wilt Chamberlain. Wilt dominates most of the top-10 scoring performances of all time but if you take him out of the equation, it really paints a picture of some of the dominant scorers and one off performances we've seen over the last 40 years. Dantley and Gervin, Larry Bird, David Robinson, Bernard King and Michael Jordan.
